What is the biggest lie companies tell about 'company culture' right now?

Post by Cassy micheal »

Remember when every company used to brag about their ping-pong tables, Friday beer taps, and team-building escape rooms? Then the shift to remote and hybrid work happened, and suddenly the script flipped to "We're a flexible, asynchronous, high-trust async culture!"
Yet, a lot of people are finding out that the corporate buzzwords just changed, while the underlying dysfunction stayed the exact same. Now it’s mandatory "optional" Zoom socials, Slack channels that expect a reply within five minutes, and tracking software that monitors your keystrokes.
For those navigating remote, hybrid, or traditional offices: what is the biggest gap between the "culture" a company advertises on their career page versus the brutal reality of working there day-to-day?
