* Jeremiah 29:11
1. INTRODUCTION
Committing your ways to God means surrendering your plans, decisions, ambitions, challenges, family, business, ministry, and future into His hands. It means acknowledging that God knows what is best for you and trusting Him to lead you according to His will.
Many people want God to bless their lives, but they are not always willing to surrender their plans to Him. They want God’s blessings but prefer to make their own decisions without seeking His direction.
However, if we want to experience God’s faithfulness, we must learn to trust Him completely.
Psalm 37:5 gives us three important instructions:
1. Commit your way to the Lord.
2. Trust in Him.
3. Believe that He will act according to His perfect will.
God is faithful, but we must learn to depend on Him rather than relying entirely on our own understanding.
The central message is this: When you surrender your ways to God, you allow Him to guide your steps, strengthen your faith, and direct your life according to His purpose.

2. WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO COMMIT YOUR WAYS TO GOD?
To commit your ways to God means to place your life and everything that concerns you under His care and direction.
It means saying:
“Lord, I have plans, but let Your will be done. I have desires, but let Your purpose prevail. I have challenges, but I choose to trust You. I do not know everything about tomorrow, but I know that You are faithful.”
A. It means surrendering your plans to God.
Bible verse: Proverbs 16:3
“Commit thy works unto the LORD, and thy thoughts shall be established.” — Proverbs 16:3 (KJV)
Before starting a business, entering a relationship, making an important decision, or pursuing a new opportunity, seek God’s wisdom.
Do not make decisions only because they appear attractive. Pray and ask God for direction.
Practical lesson: Do not ask God merely to bless your plans. Ask Him to guide you in making plans that agree with His will.
B. It means trusting God even when you do not understand what He is doing.
Bible verse: Proverbs 3:5–6
“Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.” — Proverbs 3:5 (KJV)
Sometimes, God may lead you along a path you did not expect. You may experience delays, disappointments, or difficulties.
In such moments, do not conclude that God has abandoned you.
Your understanding may be limited, but God’s wisdom is not limited.
Powerful statement: When you cannot understand God’s plan, continue to trust His character.
C. It means giving your burdens to God.
Bible verse: 1 Peter 5:7
“Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.” — 1 Peter 5:7 (KJV)
God does not want you to carry every burden as though you are alone.
Bring your worries about your family, finances, health, future, ministry, and personal struggles before Him in prayer.
Surrendering your burdens does not mean refusing to take action. It means praying, trusting God, and doing your part while depending on His strength.

3. FIVE WAYS TO COMMIT YOUR WAYS TO GOD
Point 1: Commit Your Plans to God Through Prayer
Main Scripture: Philippians 4:6–7
Prayer is one of the ways we surrender our lives to God.
Before making decisions, ask God for wisdom. When facing difficulties, ask Him for strength. When opportunities arise, ask Him for discernment.
Do not wait until everything has failed before you seek God’s direction.
Bible example: Jesus Christ
In Luke 22:42, Jesus prayed in the Garden of Gethsemane:
“Nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.” — Luke 22:42 (KJV)
Jesus demonstrated complete surrender to the Father’s will.
If Jesus expressed His submission to the Father in prayer, we too must learn to submit our plans to God.
Lessons to learn:
* Pray before making important decisions.
* Ask God for wisdom when you are confused.
* Surrender your desires to His will.
* Remain prayerful when the answer takes time.
Prayer: Father, teach me to seek Your direction before making decisions. Let my plans be guided by Your wisdom, in Jesus’ name.
