One of the biggest mistakes we make in business is thinking our customer is everyone. You ask someone, "Who are you selling to?" and they say "Everybody. Male, female, young, old, rich, poor." If your customer is everybody, then your customer is nobody. Why? Because a 19-year-old student and a 40-year-old working mother do not buy the same way. They don't have the same money, the same pain, or even use the same social media. When you try to talk to everyone, no one feels like you are talking to them. Successful businesses are specific. Indomie does not sell to everyone, they sell to parents and students who need fast food. Apple does not sell to everyone, they sell to people who value design and status. When you know your exact customer, everything becomes easier. You know what to post. You know how to price. You know where to find them. You stop wasting money and energy. So instead of saying "I sell clothes," say "I sell corporate wear for young ladies in Lagos who work on the Island and want to look classy without spending 100k."
That is clear. That customer will see your page and say "This is for me."Don't try to serve everyone. Choose one person, understand their problem deeply, and serve them better than anyone else. When you do that, that one person will bring everyone else.
Thank you.
