Good morning,
One of the biggest lies social media taught us is that you need to be everywhere to make it. You see someone doing fashion business, you want to do fashion. You see someone doing crypto, you want to do crypto. You see someone in Uyo making money from shortlet, you want to do shortlet. At the end, you are everywhere, but you are growing nowhere. Let me tell you the truth: You don't need to be everywhere. You need to be somewhere, deeply. Coca-Cola is not selling clothes. They are just selling drink. For 100 years. And they are billionaires. That boutique owner in Eket that you admire? She is not selling food, phones, and clothes. She is just selling temale wears. Only that. And she is feeding her family.
If you try to catch two rabbits at once, you will catch none. But if you focus on one rabbit and chase it well, you will eat tonight.
In my own life, I tried to do everything. I wanted to do uniform, and personal shopper, and printing, and POS. My money scattered.
My energy scattered. Nothing grew.
When I said "I will only do uniform for contractors and schools" - that is when customers started respecting me. Because now I am not just a tailor. I am THE uniform guy. So stop stressing yourself.
You don't need to attend every party.
You don't need to be in every WhatsApp group. You don't need to start 5 businesses at once. Pick ONE place. ONE skill. ONE type of customer. And dig deep there until your name means something there. Be everywhere and you will be known nowhere. Be somewhere and you will be known everywhere.
Thank you.

Yes this statement is partially correct, but then again it's not all about making a name, it's about building worth and survival, my best advice of you stay a few years in a place and it doesn't favor you, don't be scared to make the move to the next big thing, it's what's kept me going, and is best advice out there for a young Nigerian man, we don't care about reputation just survival
