COMMIT YOUR WAYS TO GOD AND EXPERIENCE HIS FAITHFULNESS PART 2
Point 2: Trust God’s Timing
Main Scripture: Psalm 37:7
“Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him.” — Psalm 37:7 (KJV)
One of the greatest challenges in the Christian life is waiting.
Sometimes, we pray for a breakthrough and expect an immediate answer. When the answer does not come quickly, we become discouraged.
But God’s timing does not always agree with our expectations.
Abraham received God’s promise of a son, but he had to wait many years before Isaac was born.
Bible example: Abraham and Sarah
Read Genesis 21:1–3.
God fulfilled His promise to Abraham and Sarah by giving them Isaac in their old age.
Their story reminds us that God can fulfil His promises even when circumstances seem impossible. However, their journey also teaches us about the difficulties that can arise when we try to accomplish God’s purposes through our own impatience.
Lessons to learn:
* Do not abandon your faith because of delay.
* Do not compare your progress with other people’s achievements.
* Do not allow impatience to push you into unwise decisions.
* Continue to obey God while you wait.
Powerful statement: A delay is not automatically a denial, but waiting on God requires patience, wisdom, and continued faithfulness.
Point 3: Obey God’s Instructions
Main Scripture: Deuteronomy 28:1–2
Committing your ways to God involves more than prayer. It also requires obedience.
You cannot sincerely ask God to direct your steps while deliberately refusing to follow His instructions.
When God teaches you to forgive, forgive. When His Word calls you to honesty, be honest. When you need to correct a wrong, take responsibility.
Bible example: Noah
Read Genesis 6:13–22.
God instructed Noah to build an ark because a flood was coming. Noah followed God’s instructions, even though the task was enormous.
His obedience prepared him and his household for what was ahead.
Lessons to learn:
* Obey God’s Word even when obedience is difficult.
* Do not compromise your faith for temporary benefits.
* Follow God’s principles in your business and relationships.
* Remember that faithfulness to God matters more than pleasing people.
Powerful statement: If you want God’s direction, be willing to follow where He leads.
Point 4: Do Not Allow Fear to Control Your Decisions
Main Scripture: Isaiah 41:10
“Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God.” — Isaiah 41:10 (KJV)
Fear can cause people to make decisions they later regret.
Fear of failure may stop you from pursuing a worthwhile opportunity. Fear of tomorrow may rob you of today’s peace. Fear of people’s opinions may cause you to compromise your convictions.
When you commit your ways to God, you learn to face uncertainty with faith.
This does not mean you will never feel afraid. It means you do not allow fear to become the master of your decisions.
Bible example: David
In 1 Samuel 17:32–50, David faced Goliath, a mighty warrior who frightened the Israelite army.
David placed his confidence in God and went forward to face the giant.
His victory demonstrated that human limitations do not place limits on God’s power.
Lessons to learn:
* Pray instead of allowing fear to overwhelm you.
* Seek wise counsel when facing difficult decisions.
* Take responsible steps toward your goals.
* Remember God’s past faithfulness when facing present challenges.
Powerful statement: When you place your future in God’s hands, you can face tomorrow without knowing everything that tomorrow holds.
Point 5: Remain Faithful Even When the Answer Has Not Come
Main Scripture: Galatians 6:9
“And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.” — Galatians 6:9 (KJV)
Some people trust God when things are going well but become discouraged when difficulties arise.
True faithfulness means continuing to honour God during both favourable and difficult seasons.
You may be praying for a job, a business breakthrough, family restoration, spiritual growth, or another important need.
While waiting, continue to work diligently, treat people with integrity, pray consistently, and obey God’s Word.
Bible example: Joseph
Read Genesis 39–41.
Joseph experienced betrayal, slavery, and imprisonment. Yet he continued to demonstrate integrity and faithfulness to God.
Eventually, he was brought before Pharaoh and appointed to a position of authority in Egypt.
Joseph’s story shows that a painful season does not have to be the end of your story. God can work through difficult circumstances to accomplish His purposes.
Lessons to learn:
* Do not give up because life is difficult.
* Maintain your integrity when nobody is watching.
* Continue developing your gifts and abilities.
* Trust God without assuming that every difficulty will end immediately.
Powerful statement: Your present circumstances do not have to determine your future; remain faithful to God as you take the next right step.

4. FIVE BENEFITS OF COMMITTING YOUR WAYS TO GOD
1. God gives you direction.
Proverbs 3:5–6
When you seek God’s wisdom, you learn to depend on Him rather than relying only on your own understanding.
2. You experience peace in difficult situations.
Philippians 4:6–7
Prayer and trust in God can guard your heart and mind even when your circumstances remain challenging.
3. Your faith becomes stronger.
James 1:2–4
Trials can develop perseverance and maturity as you continue to depend on God.
4. You learn patience.
Romans 12:12
Hope in God helps you remain joyful in hope, patient in affliction, and faithful in prayer.
5. You become more willing to follow God’s purpose.
Romans 8:28
God works in the lives of those who love Him and are called according to His purpose. This does not mean every event is good in itself, but that God can work through difficult circumstances to accomplish His purposes.
Important truth: God’s faithfulness does not mean that everything will happen according to your preferred timetable. It means you can trust His character, follow His Word, and depend on Him through every season of life.
