One thing I’ve noticed about business is that people sometimes spend too much time watching their competitors instead of focusing on their own business.
Once another business starts getting more customers, they become worried. They start comparing prices, copying strategies, and trying to do everything their competitors are doing. But honestly, that might not even be their biggest problem.
Sometimes, the real problem is poor customer service, lack of consistency, bad marketing, or not understanding what their customers actually want.
You can have fewer competitors and still struggle if you don’t know how to manage your business properly. Meanwhile, another business can operate in a crowded market and still succeed because they understand their customers and give them a reason to come back.
I believe competition is good because it pushes you to improve, but you shouldn’t let it distract you from your own goals. Instead of always checking what others are doing, pay attention to what you can do better.
Are your customers satisfied? Are your products worth the price? Are you promoting your business properly?
Sometimes, the growth you’re looking for doesn’t come from defeating another business. It comes from fixing the things you’ve been ignoring in your own.
Your competitors might be doing well, but that doesn’t mean they are the reason your business is struggling.

I totally agree with this. Competition should be a source of learning, not pressure. You can learn from what others are doing without losing your own identity or forgetting what makes your business unique. At the end of the day, customers don’t just come for low prices; they also come for quality, trust, consistency, and the experience they get from your business. Sometimes, instead of asking, “What is my competitor doing better than me?” we should ask, “What can I improve in my own business to make customers choose me and keep coming back?”
